Truly enjoyed the current exhibition at the Design Museum Holon, entitled Alessi - In-Possible, curated by Francesca Appiani. Featuring objects from the collection of the Alessi Museum collection, the show brings together sketches, renderings, technical drawings, and prototypes of those fascinating projects that were never realized. It is about innovation in industrial design and its complexity, demonstrating the wide range of factors involved in the creation of industrial products. The role of Alessi, one of the world’s leading companies as an entity that works in collaboration with designers in developing products is highlighted in this fascinating show that provides the viewer with a glimpse behind the scenes. Among the designers responsible for the designs that never went beyond their prototypes, are Philippe Starck, Aldo Rossi, Zaha Hadid, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Greg Lynn, and Ettore Sottsass.
