September 1st and I am going back to work. Want to thank Bill Iindursky, artist, film maker, tastemaker, friend, and the founder of Design Life Network, for the sweet write-up on my program collecting design, celebrating the upcoming fall season. Design Life Network is a wonderful platform for learning and for collecting design. In the program Collecting Design at the New York School of Interior Design I will host some friends and colleague who share their expertise and passion for collecting and living with great design. Among my guests are: Dakin Hart, curator of the Isamu Noguchi museum; Nicholas Kilner who will speak on Osvaldo Borsani, whose work I find spectacular; Brent Lewis from Wright Chicago will illuminate the current state of the market for Eaems furniture; Justine Despretz will share her discovery on the role of the auction houses in promoting Italian design; Alberto Aquilino, director of 1950 will speak about collecting Charlotte Perriand in the light of the film on collecting Perriand, which I have recently completed; with Christina Japp, I will explore whether it is still possible to collect work by French Art Deco master Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann; Zesty Meyers will be speaking on Jeff Zimmerman.
