Rwalings Design, an architectural practice founded by Christopher Rawlins has completed a renovation of the Greenwich Village home of Peter Dolchin and Jordan Hyatt. The interior is airy, full of light, and has a great sense of space and scale. I love the selection of objects and the dialog created between them; the Potence Lamp by Jean Prouve, produced by Vitra is a particularly great choice that allows in keeping the ceiling plain and clean. I was first introduced to Christoper when reading his fabulous book "Fire Island Modernist: Horace Gifford and the Architecture of Seduction," which explores the work of this mid-century architect who was responsible in shaping Fire Island as a center of modernist architecture. We then met at a party at a mutual friends' home and I was admiring his knowledge and passion for modernist architecture. Bravo!
