One of my most favorite design events, happening annually at the beginning the spring, known also as the best fashion event of the year is the major show at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is always surprising, exciting, well-done, and mostly remarkable. This time, taking place at the new Anna Wintour Costume Center, the exhibition “Charles James: Beyond Fashion,” comes to celebrate the spectacular career of one of the more important and intriguing figures in the history of fashion couture. To the influential fashion designer Charles James whose legacy had entered the pantheon of world fashion with innovations in patterns, architectural cut, and glamor gowns, fashion was a form of an art. My video on the visit is coming soon.
