She was known as the "Pottery Queen of Palm Beach," and her lettuce tableware has become synonymous with Palm Beach lifestyle, transforming into a must item on any stylish table during the 60s and 70s. Dodie Thayer designed this tableware, and she was inspired by Victorian Majolica. It was regularly featured in all of America’s best magazines, seen in the homes of such celebrities as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the Duchess of Windsor, Frank and Barbara Sinatra, and Brooke Astor. Sold exclusively at the Au Bon Gout shop on Worth Avenue, Palm Beach, these pieces were never mass marketed, and thus considered collectible items today. Now, that they have become rare, Thayer, now at her 80s, began collaborating with Tory Burch in reissuing the famed lattice ware.
