Visiting the newly-opened Kelly Gallery in NY this morning was a rewarding and inspiring experience. Dr. Stephen Kelly, a passionate collector of French Art Deco for decades, has recently opened his spacious and tastefully done home on the Upper East Side as a gallery of design and fine arts, with a special focus on French design of the 20s and 30s. Now Kelly is showing an exhibition Jean Dunand/Jean Goulden, which presents objects in metal and lacquer by the two artists
who were engaged in group exhibitions in the 20s, and whose work was shown together in a seminal show at the Galerie du Luxembourg in Paris in 1973. Dr. Kelly will participate as a guest speaker in the program Collecting Design at the NY School of Interior Design this fall. Photography courtesy of Kelly Gallery.
