ARS (Artists Rights Society) has announced the addition of a prominent new member artists to its roaster, the photographer Paul Schumach (1919- 2007). Schumach began his career as an apprentice at Metropolitan Photo Service in New York City in 1945, and became the photographer of first choice for virtually all the major motion picture studios, Broadway producers, television networks, celebrities, and many corporate clients. The list of those photographed include the complete who's who of the American and international entertainment world as well as political and corporate leaders of the last half of the twentieth century. His work made the front page of newspapers and magazines worldwide. Schumach's celebrated photograph of Marilyn Monroe taken at the 1955 New York premiere of the classic film "The Seven Year Itch," has become the most celebrated photograph in American entertainment history and has been on display as a genuine American cultural icon at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.
