Ever since Wharton Esherick crafted a music stand in 1960 (he then kept duplicating this model), it had become the touchstone of the American Studio Movement. Numerous participants of the Movement followed Esherick and created their own version of the music stand. I particularly love the one Wendell Castle crafted in 1964 of bent lamination. Now, Wright Chicago is offering another version, and one I have not seen before. It was crafted by Richard John in 1975, a vintage year considered the height of the Movement.
