Masterpiece London is often referred to as the world’s most beautiful art fair. Taken place at the stunning Royal Hospital Chelsea, Masterpiece comes to present masterpieces, museum-quality works of art shown by 150 of the world’s leading galleries. They show art, antiques, and design spanning 3,000 years of art history from antiquity to the present day, showcasing their finest offerings. I was happy to make it to the Fair on its closing day and would like to complement and highlight the remarkable booth of Mayfair-based David Gill Galleries, which was elegant and tasteful, showing masterpieces by the artists and designers represented by the Gallery. Loved the Gold Crush coffee table by Fredrikson/Stallard; the silvered mirror, designed in the 80s by Garouse/Bonetti; loved the jeweled small tables by the Campana Brothers, crafted of carved stone over animal-formed bronze legs; the mirror by Barnaby Barford which looks like a fantasy. All of these marvels of contemporary design, which the gallery produces in limited edition, is accented by a couple of vintage pieces to make a remarkable assemble.
