Here is an architectural competition which may become a legend one day. The Guggenheim and its Finnish partners are due to launch a competition to find an architect to design a Helsinki satellite. This architectural competition, which is being co-organized with the Finnish Association of Architects and has been partly sponsored by the Swedish Cultural Foundation in Finland, is the talk of the architectural community. The Guggenheim Museum has given birth to two icons, which tells the story of its time, and each become influential: the Frank Lloyd Wright museum in NY of 1959 and the Frank Gehry’s museum in Bilbao of 1997.
