This morning I attended the introduction to a new art fair which will open in Miami during the Art Basel Week and which is called the Brazil Art Fair, near the Wynwood Art District. It seeks to father contemporary Brazilian artists and designers in an exhibition that focuses on investigating the reverberations of the crisis of the modern project and its utopia, and to present the philosophy behind Brazilian art and design. I loved seeing that the work of San Paulo-based artist/designer/sculptor Luiz Hermano is included. I was first introduced to his extraordinary work in fiber in an article on contemporary Brazilian textile art in the NY Times.
