In their efforts to intersect art and design Galerie Patrick Seguin has collaborated with Gagosian Gallery, to present the work of Jean Prouvé along with that of Cy Twombly and Alexander Calder, bringing architecture and design to the attention of contemporary art collectors across the globe. Now, the two opened a powerful show, “Chamberlain-Prouvé,” at Gagosian Gallery in New York, which brings together two giants of mid-20th-century, John Chamberlain and Jean Prouvé. The exhibition unveils for the first time in New York two of the 19 demountable houses in the collection of Patrick Seguin, paired with large-scale works by John Chamberlain. The exhibition comes to celebrate a new comprehensive publications dedicated to Jean Prouvé’s demountable architecture, illustrated with archival and contemporary photographs, which Galerie Patrick Seguin has recently published.
