Registration to the spring edition of the program Collecting Design is now open. This course comes to educate architects, interior designers, decorators, and art collectors in one of the most fascinating territories in the international marketplace. Lectures will address furniture, styles, and modes in the history of modern design that have a strong presence in the market with a focus on the state of the marketplace. Featured guests include experts, curators, collectors, dealers, and scholars. This season, I will host James Zemaitis who will share his expertise on mid-century Nordic design; Larry Weinberg on collecting furniture by Edward Wormley; Markus Winter on early German Modernism; and a special panel on Eileen Gray with Cloé Pitiot, curator at Centre Pompidou, Jennifer Goff, curator at the National Museum and author of the recently published “Eileen Gray: Her Work and Her World”, and Sandra Gering, founder of the Friends of E1027. The program concludes with a visit to a design exhibition at one of the major auction houses. Those who register for the program receive free access to the annual report of the design market conducted by DeTnk.com (valued at $375). The program is presented Cultured Magazine and co-sponsored by DeTnk.
