On February 25th 2013, two years ago, Italian photographer/designer Willy Rizzo died at the age of 84. Rizzo was equally known as a photographer, whose images of such icons as Brigitte Bardot, Salvador Dalí, and Pablo Picasso were published in magazines worldwide, as a designer of sleek, space-aged furniture made of stainless steel and plastic laminate. Rizzo was married to Italian film star Elsa Martinelli and served as the artistic director of Marie Claire in the 1950s, where he famously covered the Nuremberg Trials. His cocktail tables, have long become collectible items that can been seen in galleries, auction houses, and homes and offices across the globe.
