Attended a fascinating evening with Murray Moss at the NY School of Interior Design. The design guru spoke about his love for design and about the key place of design in our culture. I realized that we both share love for Gaetano Pesce, the man and the designer. Pesce is what I call a real intellectual designer, who has dressed design with conception and innovations. When I interviewed Pesce in the spring, I focused on his love for color in a world of colorless design. Moss showed Pesce’s folding Umbrella Chair, which he designed in the 90s of plastic and aluminum, a chair for the millions, which unfortunately has never gained the popularity it deserves.
