Gallery Loupe for contemporary art jewelry has been doing a phenomenal work in introducing the most important voices in the sometimes forgotten branch of design. Now, it opens a new exhibition, entitled My Press, with the the latest body of work by Australian contemporary jeweler Laura Deakin. Experimenting with such materials as polyester resin, newspaper pigments, Deakin views the new series as haptic storage vehicles, or in her words "How do I preserve our everyday struggle, our environment and our stories? How can I keep our moments forever against the consequences of time? How do I make the fleeting permanent? Press it, feel it, remember it - slices of our time preserved in my press."
