At the Sotheby’s sale of "Deutscher Werkbund to Bauhaus: An Important Collection of German Design, " a 1927 tea infuser by Marianne Brandt was sold for $361K. Known also as Model No. MT 49, this tea infuser is made of silver-plated brass and ebony and is stamped 137 to the underside and the rim of the lid. This icon of modern design relies on geometry, which may have derived in part from the influence of Moholy-Nagy's Constructivist output.
