Next TWA Terminal? With its crossed arches and giant dome, it has been one of the most recognized architecture icons of Southern California. The Theme Building in Los Angeles International Airport, designed by the prolific architecture firm of Pereira & Luckman, completed in 1961, and dedicated by Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson may be turned into a hotel. According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, with the upcoming expansion and modernization of LAX Airport, to complete in 2023, its officials are looking for ways to bring a hotel into the core area that includes the Theme Building.
