Despite the fact that its construction began 133 years ago, only 70 percent of Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Família has been built. In a recent press conference by the project's directing architect Jordi Faulí, it was announced that its construction has entered its final phase with a completion of six new towers that will raise the building to 172.5 meters-tall. When completed in 2026, Sagrada Família will become the tallest religious structure in Europe and Barcelona's tallest building. The date of completion of this famed building, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2005, will coincide with the centenary of the death of Antoni Gaudí.
