The Beautiful World of Robert Couturier

At 32, he was commissioned to design the interior of what has since been considered the single greatest private commission of modern times, a 20,000-acre kingdom on the Pacific Coast of Mexico, the property of financier Sir James Goldsmith. This is how Parisian-born, NYC-based Robert Couturier began his spectacular, cosmopolitan, and successful career. Style, taste, sensuality, and beauty are the elements that have become a part of his identity and are present in all aspects of his life. His interiors are so luxurious, chic, and posh, that you want to live in them. When it comes to taste, his merges the old and the contemporary worlds, and crafting witty spaces with unique and luxurious objects has become his own way or creating interiors. Now, that Robert is moving to a new home, he is offering a selection of furniture, ceramics, glass, Asian works of art, and carpets from his own private life for sale, highlighted by objects by such legends as Jacques Adnet, Andre Sornay, and Armand Albert Rateau. The sale will be taking place at Christie’s on June 6th
