The Parisian auction house Artcurial has made a tradition to present its flagship design sales in the month of October. After its successful monographic sale of Ron Arad last October, it comes out with a curated sale of design masterpieces. Assembled by its Director of the design department, Emmanuel Berard and by Vice-President Fabien Naudan, and scheduled for October 27th, it is entitled “Design Masterpieces – The Ideal Collection.” I have first heard about this intriguing sale when visiting the auction house in the summer, and was eager to discover the iconic and rare pieces selected. Now, that the press-release has become available, I have discovered that among the prized objects including are a rare Bone Chair by Finn Juhl (below); the floor lamp Moloch by Gaetano Pesce; an exceptional hanging light by Ettore Sottsass; and masterpieces by Charlotte Perriand, Jean Prouvé, Robert Mallet-Stevens, Marc Newson (above), and Ron Arad, all made one ideal collection.
