When I first traveled to NY at the age of 22, I stayed at the Lexington Hotel, which has since acquired a special place in my heart. It was built in the 20s and designed by Schultz and Weaver, a company responsible for some of the most celebrated hotels in this country, such as the Atlanta Biltmore Hotel, the Coral Gables Biltmore Hotel, and the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. Thus I was excited to read that it was recently renovated by Dash Design, a NY-based interior design firm, founded by its principal, David Ashen. His language, as can be seen in the newly-renovated Lexington Hotel, is rooted in the luxury of the golden age of hotels paired with the intimate essence of boutique hotels.
